I have a used a 4 x filter on the photographs above and below which allows me to get a closer shot of the bees.
I did a bit of exploring yesterday up in the hills behind Lochmara Lodge and found some bees feasting on the nectar of the flax flowers. I got some great photos of the bees in action. It required quite a lot of patience to get the focus right as the flax was swaying in the wind and the subject was so small.
I am really excited to be accepted for an artist residency at Lochmara Lodge in Marlborough Sounds.
I have printed 3 photographs and they are at the framers getting professionally mounted.
I have new business cards and all my camera gear to take down.
I have just been looking through photographs of the Lodge online and it looks amazing, hopefully the weather is good too!
The bay is really calm first thing in the morning, it is worth getting up early for.
I got my business card back from the printers today - love the rounded corners.
Thanks to Kate Logan for the design!
Yesterday the Vaka sailed out of Wellington harbour, it was sad to see the crew leave as I had made friends with some of them. I hope they have a safe trip back up to Fiji. Here are some photos I took over their stay in Wellington.
Thanks to the Wellington Chocolate Factory for bringing this epic journey to life!
